On March 25, architect Angel Borrego Cubero took part in the panel discussion “Ciudad (in)finita: Estrategias y casos de éxito de regeneración urbana, rehabilitación y transformación de ciudades y territorios” (City (In)finite: Strategies and Success Stories in Urban Regeneration, Rehabilitation, and Transformation of Cities and Territories), organized by the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid – COAM (Madrid Architects Association) as part of the 2nd MATCOAM Construction Week.
During the event, Borrego Cubero presented the case study of the rehabilitation of La Carbonería, an iconic housing heritage housing building located in Barcelona’s Eixample district. The project was highlighted as a model of sustainable urban regeneration and innovative approach to historic preservation.
The panel also featured leading architecture firms such as Ruiz-Larrea Arquitectura, O-SH Architecture, Burr Studio, Terrario Arquitectura, and Matos Castillo Arquitectos. The session was moderated by Cristina Mateo Rebollo, Vice Dean of the IE School of Architecture and Design.
